From a technology standpoint, Fiori applications use a new, multidimensional analysis control (known as a pivot table), which is available asComponent SAP UI5contributed by our analytics teams in SAP Analytics Cloud.

The first version of this application was released with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Release 2202.

With S/4HANA Cloud Edition Release 2308, the review book concept has been taken to the next level in several ways.

With our latest version, you will experience…

1. A new way to design guide pages – optimized to answer your business questions.
2. New flexible analysis management - optimized for multidimensional data.
3. Easy way to switch between guided views and general cropping and dicing/rotating.
4. New side panel with app-specific and analytical functions

First, let's introduce the use case supported in the current version:

As group auditor, you must monitor and verify several aspects of the financial statements during the closing process.

Typically, this work is done under high time pressure, with many repetitive considerations and tasks that check aggregated group data, both top-down and bottom-up.

Predefined company pages optimized for these tasks are ready to use and provide great value for group auditors. These pages cover all aspects of finishing work, guided navigation, best practices for calculating and analyzing variance, and interactive filtering and drilling for details.

The security and full transparency of filters is as important as the ability to partition data.

In this app, we combine predefined guided pages and interactive analysis in multidimensional, flexible layouts.

Let's see an example:

- Open app with predefined views-

When you launch the app, you will see a typical Fiori app where you can use many of Fiori's features (such as themes, navigation, documentation, etc.)

In the upper left corner, you'll find predefined views (also known as variants) that store relevant filters, layouts and data for your scheduled interview.

You can open a view like this to load the relevant pages:

The filter bar shows the booklet-level variables that are used on all pages in the booklet. As you can see in the screenshot below, the booklet is filtered for the year 2022. If necessary, you can change the filters and press Go:

– Use guide pages designed to answer your business questions-

As a result, you will see guide pages prepared to answer specific business questions and understand related variance calculations.

Let's take a look at slot YTD vs. Previous year-to-date variances:

As you can see in the screenshot below, you can use SAP Companion to get an overview and a detailed explanation of all the pages in the review booklet.

Data is presented in a multidimensional, rotating dashboard that allows you to view multiple dimensions, measures, and structures, arranged in row and column headers.
This allows you to use the extensive context menu to customize filters, set the layout and use many analysis functions (see screenshot below).

– New side panel with analysis functions-

On the right side, you can now use the new side panel, which contains all the necessary functions from the page level.

First, you'll find page filters, which add page-specific variables and dynamic filters to the page.

then you can choose flexible multidimensional layout, number formatting and many other analysis functions.

In the screenshot below, you can see how easy it is to customize the guide page you use as your home page with the multi-dimensional rotating side panel.
Allows you to add/remove dimensions, measures and structures in rows and columns.
For example, you can drag and drop a consolidation unit in the columns and of course see its details.

– Different types of pages to handle related business issues-

Another example of this type of page is the waterfall chart pivot table shown below.

To support the application logic required for certain business questions, we provide different types of pages for structuring pages and related visualization.

These page types include e.g

• Single sliding table
• Pivot table with time series chart
• Pivot table with waterfall diagram
• Two pivot tables with merged rows and columns

Based on all the feedback we received, our customers encouraged us to bring application logic and analytics technology together in SAP Fiori.

– Fiori app built with UI5 analytics components-

The result is a new approach to developing SAP Fiori applications that integrates and reuses UI5 analytics controls, provided and delivered by SAP Analytics Cloud.

Therefore, the analytical controls and functionality of the SAP Fiori programming model are made available in SAP UI5. This enables the Fiori application to be enriched with built-in multidimensional insights and many related dialogs and functions.

In addition, it makes it possible to bring together application logic and multidimensional insights and take contextual decision making and intelligent automation to the next level.

– Analytical principles –

We rely on multidimensional accounting data as part of our virtual data model.

Analytical Engine combined with Analytical Queries defines a multidimensional model that is optimized

Finally, let's connect the dots to the architectural images you probably know from SAP S/4HANA's built-in cloud analytics.

Our consolidated financial statement booklet is calculated using the CDS (Core Data Services) model in consolidated reportinganalytical questions. These questions appear throughoutAnalytical engine (OLAP).using ourmultidimensional protocol (InA).

Multiple frontends can now leverage multidimensional data using the Firefly library hosted centrally by the SAP Analytics Cloud. There is a news for the SAP Fiori applicationDragonfly UI5 librarywhich provides controls, dialog boxes, and analytics for multidimensional data.

At brochure level you will find filters that apply to all pages. In addition, you can use page-level filters: Page filters include variables defined in the underlying query or dynamic filters that can be created directly. (e.g. via context menu)	Open the side panel"Sitefiltre"and view page-specific filters. You can customize them by selecting the value helper, the context menu, or directly adding additional filters.
Below the proposed filters, you will find hierarchical filters that are clearly visible in the sidebar. For example, you want to filter the income statement on the page by units and consolidation groups.	Open the side panel"Sitefiltre"and select the "Suggested Filters" tab. Suggested filters are predefined in the brochure template and show the most important filters for the page.
You want to display your amounts in millions or thousands. This is done for a target or specific structural elements.	Place your cursor on "Group Currency Amount" or Structure and select "Peelfrom the context menu. Alternatively, you can use the side panel in the number format.
Want to change dimension properties to customize display, sorting, and hierarchies?	Hover over the dimension name in the header, e.g. "Consolidation Unit" and then select "Characteristicfrom the context menu.
Do you want full information about all applied filters at both booklet and page level?	Select"Contextual informationon the side panel.
You have a larger page and want to pin header rows and columns for easier reading.	Place your cursor in a heading row or column and select "Freeze headlines"
you want to defineConditional formattingrules to set certain conditions for your data.	Open the Format side panel and add a conditional formatting rule. Also, be sure to filter the relevant structures if you have more advanced variance calculations like those found in group reporting.
